Dometic Unveils New Line of Microwave Ovens for Marine Industry
Dometic Press Release
RICHMOND, VA - February 19, 2004 - Dometic Corporation unveiled a new line of microwave ovens for boats in a press conference at the Miami International Boat Show.
The product line includes microwave/convection combination units and microwave-only units, for over-the-range, built-in and countertop applications. The quality-engineered products have been thoroughly marinized for reliable performance in the demanding marine environment, and all built-in units are constructed with extra insulation and ventilation systems to ensure safe operation without heat build-up.
The top-of-the-line DOTCR11 combination microwave/convection oven represents the ultimate in cooking technology on board. It blends the speed and convenience of microwave technology with the slow-cook baking and broiling functions of a standard convection oven. Dometicís Sensor Cook system automatically detects moisture levels in the food and determines how long to cook and at what power level. The spacious 1.1 cu.ft. oven comes in black, white or stainless steel finish.
Over-the-range microwave models include the extra-large DOTRM15 and the compact 1.3 cu.ft. DOTR12C for smaller spaces. The DOTRM15 offers 1.5 cu.ft. of interior space, 1,000 Watts of power, nine Auto-Touch cycles, a stoppable glass turntable and removable metal rack. It is available in black, white and stainless steel finish. The 1.3 cu.ft. DOTR12C offers 950 Watts of power and 11 Auto-Touch cycles, in black, white or silver finish.
Built-in microwave models include the 1.2 cu.ft. CDMW12 and 1.4 cu.ft. CDMW14. Both provide 1,000 Watts of power. The CDMW07 countertop microwave offers 0.7 cu.ft. of capacity with 700 Watts of power.
All Dometic microwaves and microwave/convection ovens provide a wide range of advanced user features, such as time-saving Auto-Touch cycles, programmable settings and selectable power levels. They are designed to run on 120 Volt 60 Hz AC power.
The new microwave products are being marketed to the international boating industry by Dometicís Environmental Systems business unit Ė formerly Taylor Made Environmental Ė which was acquired by Dometic from the Taylor Made Group in August 2003. They are being sold along with the well-known Cruisair, Marine Air, Tundra, Sentry and Grunert marine brands to boatbuilders as OEM products, and to the aftermarket through Dometicís established marine distributor and dealer network.
Dometicís international offerings within the RV and pleasure boat industry include refrigerators, air conditioners, stove tops, microwaves, awnings, generators, lights, windows, doors and sanitation systems. The Dometic Group is wholly owned by EQT, a leading private equity group in Sweden, and has production facilities in 10 countries, its own sales and marketing operations in 35 countries, plus approximately 65 distributors globally.
